SERVICES
In the past it was thought that the only and most effective treatment for varicose veins was vein stripping and cauterization. These treatments would tend to have longer periods of recovery time, pain and larger scars.
Now, with more innovative technologies, the New Mexico Vein Treatment Center offers more effective, less invasive treatments that have you back to your normal activities a lot sooner, and in most cases, the very next day!
Dr. Khan and his staff will provide you with their utmost attention to help you decide the best treatment options.

Screening/Consultation
The very first step in determining any type vein treatment is first determining your personal vein condition. This begins by “screening” your legs. Dr. Khan will take a look to determine what type of veins you have: medical or cosmetic, spider veins vs. varicose veins. Once there is a clear understanding of the type of veins you have Dr. Khan will guide you through the treatment options best suited for you.
TREATMENT OPTIONS:
Endovenous laser treatment (EVLT)
A treatment for varicose veins in which an optical fiber is inserted into the vein to be treated, and
laser light is shone into the interior of the vein. This causes the vein to contract, and the optical fiber is slowly withdrawn.
Sclerotherapy
Injecting the unwanted veins with a sclerosing solution causes the target vein to immediately shrink, and then dissolve over a period of weeks as the body naturally absorbs the treated vein. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure taking only about 10 minutes to perform. The downtime is minimal, in comparison to an invasive varicose vein surgery.
Microphlebectomy
Occasionally, varicose veins near the surface of the skin are too large to treat with sclerotherapy (which may cause brown pigment spots with larger veins close to the skin surface) and are too small to treat with laser ablation. In this treatment varicose veins are removed through small punctures which leave virtually no scars.
Compression Therapy/Support Stockings
Superior compression treatment for a variety of painful or swelling conditions of the feet, ankles and legs. This is a highly recommended treatment aimed at wearing compression stockings. While this may alleviate some of the symptoms of varicose veins, it does not stop the progression of the venous disease. At New Mexico Vein Treatment Center our staff is trained in measuring for accurate size of compression stockings as well as selling them in our main office.
Maternity Options
Are you pregnant and noticing swelling of the feet or legs? Have you started developing unsightly veins? More and more women are noticing that when they are pregnant their veins start to pop through their legs. Compression stockings are a great way to help prevent them from becoming anything serious. Call today to have Dr. Khan take a look and decide if this is something you should be wearing throughout your pregnancy.
